Chickens
Our chickens are a hodge podge of mostly heritage breeds - Orpington, Black Copper Maran, Chanticler, and Easter Eggers - with a few Rhode Island Reds and one little baby, the result of growing our own chicks. Our hens roam the property daily, eating my tomatoes and dust bathing under the evergreens. They lay a beautiful array of egg colours - dark brown to blue!
Honey Bees
We currently have 2 honey beehives full of hard working ladies. They forage on whatever is around and in bloom. With the heavy agriculture around here, we sometimes wonder how they do it. This year our honey was a beautiful water white that tasted just delicious. We are already sold out, but if you had a chance to try it, we would love to hear what you thought!
